Thomas E. Price, M.D.
Dr. Price is an orthopedic surgeon who most recently served as the 23rd U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Dr. Price received his B. S. and M.D. from the University of Michigan, followed by General Surgery Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Emory University.
He directed one of the largest, non-academic orthopedic surgery practices in the country.
He served as Medical Director of the Orthopedic Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital as well as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Price was elected to four terms in the Georgia State Senate, followed by the U.S. House of Representative for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District from 2005-2017.
Dr. Price served in various leadership roles including Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee and Chairman of the Republican Study Committee.
